It appears that the first link at the page is the one to use to access the NY version of the Common Core that was adopted by the Board of Regents.
If you click on the “Common Core Standards for Math” link you will get the version that does not reflect the additions that NY made to the document.
In the publisher’s criteria (ELA 3-12), part V.2 asks for a balance of writing (to argue, to inform, and narrative) and offers percentages as a guide for elementary, middle and HS. At the secondary level, can we assume those percentages include writing across all content areas? Or should ELA teachers also use those percentages to find balance in their writing instruction for their courses?
According to the introduction of the Common Core State Standards, the balance of writing should “reflect the sum of student writing, not just writing in ELA settings.” ELA teachers should also use these percentages to reflect their balance in writing instruction, since the writing standards for ELA reflect narrative, persuasive, and explanatory writing.
